The function of South Lake Primary P & C is to assist with raising funds for the school and to encourage parent involvement in the education of their children. School information is discussed and explained at the meetings. Meetings are held on a regular basis. The P&C runs the canteen and has a number of other committees which parents are encouraged to be a part of for the benefit of their child’s education.
Parental involvement
Family and friends are welcome to join in some classes to offer students the help and support they need. Your involvement is encouraged and appreciated.
Parent rosters are displayed and you are encouraged to add your name to the roster. We appreciate any help parents can give to the school.
Some areas where you might like to assist at school, include:
- Listening to children read and assisting with changing books.
- Story writing.
- Art and craft lessons.
- Computer activities.
- Covering books in our library.
- Support teacher assistants making booklets and games.
- Library duty.
- Canteen support.
- Support-a-Reader program.
- Breakfast Club.
